Perhaps the most common question we get is “what is flashing” and “where does it go?”
While the answers are easily explained by any good roofer, here is some basic information:
- Roof flashing is a must in preventing weather damage and water intrusion
- Durability is key – though proper installation will make or break any flashing application
- Expansion and contraction of materials is highly likely, even in temperate climates (think the heat in your attic in the summer, or the cold basement in the winter) and should be considered during the roofing process as well.
- Flashing can be used on the roof, around windows, and in other areas of construction, and can be considered the last line of defense in protection your assets.
